ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 

AGE LIMIT FOR ADMISSION

Minimum age for admission will be 17 years. (as on 31st December 2024) and the maximum age limit is 35 yrs. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

1. 10+2 (Arts, Commerce and Science stream) with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and 40% English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and  National Institute  of  Open  School  (NIOS)  recognized by  Central  Government. However Science is preferable.

2. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.

3. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre.

4. Registered ANM with pass mark.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Candidates should be single (female only) of good health and good moral character.

COMMENCEMENT AND DURATION OF THE COURSE

The GNM course commence on 1st Aug. The duration of the study shall extend over a period of three academic years.

How to apply:

A. Candidates should apply in the prescribed form downloaded from the website.
B. Application form fee is Rs. 500. Application form fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.
C. The application form should be completed by the applicant in her own handwriting.
D. Full name of the candidate as spelt in the HSSLC Records should be  given  in  the  application form and in all other related forms  and  correspondence,  except  those  with  affidavit  for change of name.
E. The information given in the application should be correct.
F. Copies of all the certificates enclosed should be self attested . Once submitted, the copies of the certificates will not be returned. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES with the application form.
G. Completed application forms along with relevant enclosures as detailed below should reach the School of Nursing on the date which will be intimated. Application Forms not accompanied by the following enclosures will be rejected.

1. Duly filled application form.

2. Recent passport & stamp size photographs – 2 nos. each in an envelope.

3. Xerox copies of  certificate: Birth certificate, Mark Sheet Class-X, Mark Sheet Class-XII, Pass Certificate of Class-XII, Caste certificate - ST/SC/OBC/MOBC.

4. Written references/recommendation from the following persons: 

      Principal of the school /college last attended & Character Certificate from Headman.

H. Candidates coming for Interview should bring ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES along with them.

Selection & Admission:

1. The applicants, who fulfil the admission criteria, will be called for entrance test on 14th June, 2025 at Bethany School of Nursing, Shillong at their own expense.

2. The entrance examination will be of one and half  hours duration that includes the following areas: Science, Mathematics, English and Health Education of Class X Syllabus, including Aptitude and General Knowledge.

3. The candidates who clear the entrance examination will be called for interview.

4. Interview:​

• The list of eligible candidates will be put up on the 18th June, 2025 in the School noticeboard.

• No information will be mailed to the Candidates for the same. 

• The applicant should ensure the specific date for interview from the particulars furnished in the prospectus. They can contact Phone No.: 0364-2522842 /7005270465. No other correspondence will be entertained.

1. All qualified Candidates called for an interview must undergo a complete medical check – up arranged at Bethany Hospital, Shillong at their own expense. (Cost as per Hospital charges) on the 3rd & 4th July, 2025.

2. All qualified candidates will have to appear for the personal interview on the 26th & 27th July, 2025.

3. Candidates called for an interview are asked to bring with them the originals of the certificates submitted with the application forms.

4. Candidates are asked to make their own arrangements for accommodation in Shillong during the interview.

5. The list of candidates selected for the course will be announced on the 30th June, 2025, in the school Notice Boards.

6. The selected candidates must pay the admission fees on 3rd & 4th July,  2025, failing which, the admission granted will be cancelled within one week
